The 2027 event will showcase innovations in smart building automation.

Dubai is preparing to host the 20th edition of Light + Intelligent Building Middle East in 2027, bringing together global innovators.

Dubai will host the 20th edition of Light + Intelligent Building Middle East. The event will highlight interconnected systems that shape sustainable spaces. Organised by Messe Frankfurt Middle East, the exhibition runs from 12-14 January 2027. The Dubai World Trade Centre will host the event.

For two decades, the event has acted as a regional hub. Recently, it has demonstrated how previously independent technologies now work together. As a result, these systems improve building performance and enhance occupant comfort. Moreover, they deliver highly responsive environments across the region.

Event Director Abdul Muhsin noted the industry’s evolution towards connected spaces. Specifically, he highlighted the convergence of lighting, building automation, and artificial intelligence. As a result, these elements form integrated, energy-efficient ecosystems. He also noted that lighting remains integral to green buildings.

Meanwhile, the GCC region is seeing massive capital expenditure in urban infrastructure. As a result, the hospitality, entertainment, and retail sectors demand integrated building solutions. As a result, lighting and multimedia technologies must operate as a single ecosystem. The upcoming three-day show will also connect global solution providers with developers.

Co-located with Intersec Global, the exhibition covers a range of product sectors. These include smart home automation, architectural lighting, and electrical engineering. The event also showcases intelligent IoT and energy management. As a result, it creates a powerful meeting point for the future of built environments.

As in previous years, the conference will facilitate vital knowledge exchange. Specifically, international thought leaders will address sustainability and smart technology. The THINKLIGHT programme also explores the transformative power of lighting design. Meanwhile, the Smart Building Summit gathers executives to discuss greener spaces.

The InSpotlight Stage will host dynamic product launches and groundbreaking solutions. Subsequently, audiences will witness the final judging for regional lighting awards. Innovative products will also compete for the Product of the Year title. Ultimately, this stage highlights the most cutting-edge lighting technologies available.

Portfolio Director Nathan Waugh emphasised the role of a converged built environment. He also noted that this convergence helps design next-generation projects. As a result, the platform broadens opportunities for global manufacturers and solution providers. Ultimately, they can engage directly with project decision-makers shaping major developments.
