Global supply chain experts gather in Dubai to accelerate industrial growth and expand export markets.
The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism brings together key stakeholders to boost local manufacturing and expand global trade.
The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism recently hosted the Annual Manufacturing Forum 2026. As a result, more than 200 manufacturers and exporters gathered to strengthen the local industrial sector. The event also aligns directly with the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33. This ambitious plan aims to double the economy and significantly increase manufacturing value.
The Grand Hyatt Dubai hosted this strategic gathering on 29 October. As a result, businesses engaged directly with government entities and industry partners. Attendees discussed trade developments and vital regulatory requirements. Additionally, manufacturers sought clarity amid a rapidly shifting global trade landscape.
During the event, officials introduced the extensive Export Assistance Programme. Subsequently, this initiative helps Dubai-based manufacturers expand into diverse local and international markets. The programme specifically targets companies scaling existing operations or entering new territories. It also offers end-to-end support throughout the export journey.
The department actively supports the development of a highly competitive industrial sector. Furthermore, Dubai connects to more than 130 unique export destinations worldwide. Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements currently support these trade routes across 19 countries. As a result, local businesses can confidently expand into lucrative new international markets.
Hadi Badri is CEO of the Dubai Economic Development Corporation. He noted that manufacturers and exporters are vital engines of the D33 agenda. These sectors also drive value creation and shape global supply chains. Consequently, they effectively carry the local manufacturing proposition to worldwide markets.
Badri explained that Dubai’s industrial base remains incredibly resilient and diversified. Furthermore, he emphasised that the city provides a robust regulatory environment for businesses. Therefore, strategic partnerships and tailored support enable companies to scale with absolute confidence. The forum ultimately gave leaders a direct line to the priorities of the industrial community.
The Export Assistance Programme offers numerous practical mechanisms to help growing businesses. For example, participants gain market access through international exhibitions and exclusive B2B meetings. It also facilitates business matchmaking through 37 representative offices worldwide. As a result, companies can easily connect with international buyers, distributors, and strategic partners.
Financial support forms another crucial pillar of the comprehensive assistance framework. As a result, businesses receive preferential pricing on banking services and essential export credit insurance. The programme also offers discounted logistics and freight services. Additionally, expert teams provide thorough export market assessments and capacity-building workshops.
The department also strongly promotes awareness of and adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies. As a result, consultants provide detailed assessment reports and implementable improvement initiatives. Several federal ministries also delivered vital updates on regulatory compliance requirements. These entities included the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and the Federal Tax Authority.
Major ecosystem partners added immense practical value to the comprehensive programme. For instance, representatives from Emirates Development Bank and DHL Express attended the event. As a result, attendees gained direct access to key service providers for follow-up discussions. The forum reinforced public-private collaboration for sustainable industrial growth.
