SIA & Scoot delay services to Dubai & Jeddah due to regional volatility.
Singapore Airlines and Scoot extend flight cancellations to key Middle Eastern hubs amid ongoing security concerns.
Singapore Airlines and its subsidiary Scoot have pushed back their return to the Middle East. The carriers recently extended flight suspensions to and from Dubai and Jeddah until December 2026. This decision follows a detailed reassessment of the regional security climate. As a result, travel plans for thousands remain in limbo as geopolitical tensions persist.
Flagship carrier Singapore Airlines confirmed it will cancel its daily services to Dubai. Flights SQ494 and SQ495 will not operate until 1 December. Earlier plans suggested a return in October. However, the airline prioritised safety after reviewing the latest security developments.
Meanwhile, budget airline Scoot extended its pause on the Jeddah route until 2 December. This involves the three-times-weekly service from Changi Airport. The company advised passengers to monitor flight status trackers for immediate updates. Travellers should keep their contact details up to date in case of schedule changes.
These disruptions highlight a growing trend among international operators. Cathay Pacific aims to return in January. Air Canada and United Airlines have delayed their flights until March. Conversely, some European carriers plan to resume regional operations this October.
The situation remains fluid according to the national carrier. Therefore, further adjustments across the network may occur at short notice. This cautious approach mirrors the broader instability currently affecting global aviation routes.
