The beverage giant beats revenue targets but faces an uphill battle to stabilise its North American market amid rising costs.

PepsiCo reported strong Q3 earnings but lowered its 2026 profit outlook as it prepares to hike prices by 15%.

PepsiCo is navigating a delicate balance in North America. The beverage giant is blending steep price increases with health-focused product innovations. Executives face the challenge of boosting profits amid cautious consumer spending. Management recently lowered profit forecasts despite beating third-quarter expectations.

The company reported a 5.6% year-over-year revenue increase to $25.27 billion. This figure comfortably exceeded Wall Street estimates of roughly $25 billion. Adjusted earnings also reached $2.34 per share, beating the anticipated $2.29. Tariff refunds also added $178 million in the quarter.

However, the firm slashed its core earnings growth outlook for fiscal year 2026. Forecasts now sit between 2.5% and 3%, dropping significantly from the previous 7% peak. Meanwhile, annual net revenue should still reach the upper end of projections at nearly 6%. PepsiCo chief executive Ramon Laguarta confirmed the firm is working urgently to improve financial performance.

Leadership aims to sustainably stabilise the critical North American marketplace. To offset rising input costs, the corporation plans to raise prices by 15% this year. Earlier price reductions previously caused North American core operating margins to drop by 280 basis points. As a result, leadership is actively identifying new structural cost reductions to fund future business investments.

These upcoming changes will accelerate organic revenue growth while mitigating inflation’s ongoing impact. At the same time, healthier snack and drink alternatives are capturing modern consumer interest. The brand reported strong marketplace results for items with added protein, extra fibre, and simpler ingredients. Specifically, products like Doritos Protein and zero-sugar Pepsi beverages drove strong overall sales volume.
