Vingroup-backed Green SM launches its all-electric cab service in India with a fleet of premium VinFast vehicles.
Vietnam-based electric mobility firm Green SM has officially arrived in Delhi NCR. This launch marks the company’s strategic entry into its fifth global market. Consequently, the firm now challenges established players like Ola and Uber.
Green SM serves customers as a Vingroup subsidiary under chairman Pham Nhat Vuong. Specifically, the company maintains direct ownership of its entire electric fleet. This model ensures consistent service quality through specially trained professional drivers.
The fleet features the seven-seater VinFast Limo Green electric vehicle. Indeed, these modern cars include interior cameras and AI-enabled monitoring systems. Furthermore, passengers can access emergency support buttons during their journeys.
Early users in the national capital region can enjoy significant promotional discounts. The company offers fifty per cent off rides via app bookings until 11 June. However, this promotion caps at Rs 250 per trip for new passengers.
Green SM enters the market following the 2025 suspension of domestic operator BluSmart. Meanwhile, regulatory challenges involving company funds led to the decline of that local pioneer. Therefore, the Vietnamese firm sees a unique opening in the changing landscape.
GSM Global CEO Nguyen Van Thanh highlighted India’s innovative spirit and growth potential. He expressed pride in bringing high-quality electric rides to a major mobility hub. Additionally, he emphasised building long-term trust with local communities.
VinFast supports this expansion through a dedicated production facility in Tamil Nadu. The company recently committed billions of rupees toward local electric vehicle manufacturing units. Consequently, Green SM benefits from a strong domestic procurement advantage.
Plans include expansion into Mumbai and Bengaluru as demand grows steadily. The service might eventually encompass electric two-wheelers for shorter urban commutes. Ultimately, this long-term strategy aims to provide reliable and sustainable transport.
