Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA) has reported a significant period of growth for the free zone, marking a robust year for the emirate’s medical sector.

Specifically, the authority recorded a 27% increase in existing business partners expanding their operations within the ecosystem. Consequently, nearly one in three partners chose to upsize their facilities during the year, signalling strong market confidence. Furthermore, this expansion reinforces the zone’s status as a mature and investment-ready destination for global healthcare players.

Operations across the zone have scaled up considerably in response to this demand. Over the past year, the total number of active facilities operating within Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) rose to 487. Additionally, the workforce grew by 30%, reaching a total of 12,941 professionals. This surge in activity aligns with Dubai’s broader ambition to establish itself as a world-class healthcare hub under the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33.

Development in Phase 1 is progressing rapidly with the introduction of new integrated clusters. Currently, the authority is advancing an AED 1.3 billion development plan to enhance this sector. Moreover, these new clusters will include a residential-led environment alongside a dedicated commercial and healthcare core. Phase 1 also features anchor projects such as Pixel DHCC, the area’s first LEED Platinum-certified office building.

Meanwhile, Phase 2 is gaining substantial investment momentum. Notably, 58% of projects in this phase are now committed, representing a total investment of AED 5.4 billion. Infrastructure progress for Phase 2 reached 80% as of January 2026, driven by demand for integrated mixed-use developments. Key projects include the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital and the expansion of the Swiss Scientific School.

Leadership at the authority views these figures as evidence of the ecosystem’s solid fundamentals. Issam Galadari, the CEO, noted that the scale of expansion demonstrates a clear vote of confidence from investors. He further explained that the sustained demand validates their value proposition as an integrated healthcare destination.
