DubaiLG has unveiled ‘Radio Optimism,’ a cutting-edge AI-powered music platform designed to offer personalised musical experiences, aiming to combat the global issue of social isolation. This platform was launched in Dubai on June 24, 2025, reimagining our interaction through technology by enabling users to compose and share original music with their loved ones.

Using artificial intelligence, the platform helps encourage stronger emotional connections in a world where many feel increasingly isolated. This initiative was inspired by LG’s recent global survey, conducted by Focaldata across five countries— the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, India, and Canada— which emphasised concerning trends.

The poll found that 68% of adults between 18-45 years old find it harder to make true friendships, and one-third of the participants reported having fewer than two substantial social interactions in the last month. The findings further highlight the endemic nature of social isolation, as almost 90% of the participants opined that true relationships are the key to creating a positive attitude towards life. Kim Hyo-eun, LG’s Head of Brand Management, emphasised the firm’s determination to overcome the rapid technological progress and also reduce the distancing of human relationships.

She highlighted that with the advancement of technology in its function, the maintenance of real relationships is of greater importance, taking a cue from the success of LG’s previous campaign, ‘Optimism your feed,’ through which optimism was spread using social media. Radio Optimism makes use of artificial intelligence features trained on carefully curated music databases to understand user requests and then create personalised songs with respective album cover art. Users can create personalised songs from their experiences and feelings, which enables them to share the same with others to foster their relationships.

The website is accessible worldwide, currently supporting both English and Spanish, with plans to include more languages in the future. Expert opinion by San Diego State University Professor Jean M. Twenge, an expert on social trends studies, highlights the importance of deep relationships in attaining happiness. She warns that modern society seems to encourage online communication at the cost of face-to-face, real-time contact.

Her studies indicate that those who use social media for more than two hours a day are almost twice as likely to be socially isolated compared to those who limit their usage to less than thirty minutes. This initiative aligns with overall trends of AI music creation platforms like Suno, Soundraw, and Mubert. LG, however, differentiates itself by highlighting a greater emphasis on emotional connection and building relationships, thereby suggesting that the platform has therapeutic rather than entertainment use.
