The extended agreement supports Dubai’s goal to shift 80% of taxi trips to e-booking by 2030.

Dubai Taxi Company and Hala extend their e-hailing partnership for five years to accelerate digital mobility in the emirate.

Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) and National Taxi have renewed their strategic agreement with Hala for another five years. Consequently, this extension deepens one of the most prominent e-hailing partnerships in the United Arab Emirates. The collaboration began in 2019 to transform digital mobility across the city. Today, it remains vital for residents requiring reliable public transport.

The renewed deal also integrates over 7,700 standard taxis into the Careem app. As a result, users gain immediate access to a massive fleet, excluding airport vehicles. The platform currently boasts an impressive 13,000 taxis. Additionally, it supports a workforce of more than 26,000 captains.

Since its inception, passengers have booked almost 120 million trips through the Hala network. This staggering figure also highlights the platform as a primary transit method in Dubai. Hala pioneered this unique model by bringing traditional franchises onto a private-sector app. Ultimately, it revolutionised how consumers hail rides in the Middle East.

The partnership delivers substantial mutual value for all involved organisations. For instance, DTC expanded its reach far beyond conventional street hailing. As a result, the company improved overall vehicle utilisation and connected drivers with app-based customers. This approach directly supports the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) objectives.

Specifically, the RTA aims to transition 80% of all taxi journeys to e-booking by 2030. Therefore, this extended alliance remains instrumental in hitting that ambitious target. Hala relies heavily on the DTC fleet’s scale. As a result, the platform maintains strong vehicle availability and shorter wait times.

Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, DTC Group CEO, noted that the renewal marks an important chapter. He added that the partnership has advanced the taxi sector’s digital transformation. He explained that expanding fleet access creates a seamless mobility experience. Ultimately, the extension lets them build on their shared achievements.

Khaled Nuseibeh, CEO of Hala, emphasised the platform’s rapid growth since 2019. He recalled how Hala grew from a pilot programme into an established regional platform. He also credited DTC as a foundational partner in that journey. As a result, the company will keep raising the bar for customer reliability.

Nuseibeh also acknowledged the vital role captains play in delivering excellent service. Consequently, he said the collaboration provides real ways to reinvest in their workforce. This strategic move positions DTC as a comprehensive mobility provider across Dubai. Finally, Hala will continue expanding its influence within the wider transport ecosystem.
