A new three-year training collaboration aims to expand minimally invasive gastrointestinal therapies beyond major Indian cities.
AIG Hospitals & Boston Scientific are partnering to train healthcare professionals in advanced gastrointestinal therapies across India.
Advancing healthcare infrastructure outside major cities remains a pressing challenge for India. As a result, a new medical alliance is working to close this gap in gastrointestinal care. AIG Hospitals in Hyderabad recently signed an agreement with medical device manufacturer Boston Scientific.
Together, they will establish a specialised centre for minimally invasive gastrointestinal therapies. The facility will primarily focus on training medical professionals nationwide. The three-year collaboration also aims to strengthen clinical expertise in advanced therapeutic endoscopy. The initiative will systematically broaden access to complex medical interventions beyond urban areas.
Representatives noted that the partnership will significantly strengthen the national therapeutic endoscopy training ecosystem. Ultimately, this effort will improve the availability of highly skilled clinical teams nationwide. Under the agreement, AIG Hospitals will host structured annual training programmes for practitioners. These comprehensive courses will cover complex procedures like endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and cholangioscopy.
Additionally, specialists will receive instruction in endoscopic ultrasound and advanced endoluminal surgeries. The training initiative extends well beyond senior doctors and specialist surgeons. Therefore, the new excellence centre will also train endoscopy technicians and nursing professionals. Expanding this specialised workforce ensures better patient outcomes across the wider healthcare system.
